What to expect
How can I make an appointment?
You can request an appointment through the contact form on the website, by calling 644 83 96 78 or by WhatsApp. You can also send me an email to elenadominguezpsicologa@gmail.com.
Can I come with someone to your appointment?
Yes, you can come with someone if you wish. Some people feel more comfortable coming with a family member or close friend, especially in the first sessions. The most important thing is that you feel in a safe and trusting environment to approach the therapeutic process.
My child does not want to come to the doctor's office, what can I do?
It's normal for children or teenagers to feel reluctant to go to therapy, either out of fear of the unknown or because they don't understand the need for the process. In these cases, the most important thing is not to force them, but to explain to them in a calm and understanding way how therapy can help them. You can also offer them the chance to meet the therapist without committing to a formal session. Sometimes, holding the first appointment with the participation of a family member or close caregiver can help reduce initial resistance and create a space of trust.
I'm going to be a mother/father and with all the information out there I'm afraid of not doing it right. What can I do?
It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed by the idea of parenting, especially with the amount of information and expectations out there these days. One key concept that can ease that pressure is “good enough parents,” which reminds us that there’s no such thing as perfection in parenting. The important thing is to be present, attentive, and understanding, without demanding infallibility.
How long does a therapy session last?
Each session lasts approximately 55 minutes, although it depends on the type of therapy.
What is the cost of the sessions?
Rates vary depending on the type of therapy and the modality (in-person or online). For more details on prices, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Is everything we talk about in the sessions confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is one of the fundamental principles of my practice. Everything you share in the consultation is protected by the data protection law and by the code of ethics of my profession. The consultation will always be a safe place in which you can explore whatever worries or concerns you.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes, I offer both in-person and online therapy, depending on what is most comfortable for you.
